Kirkcudbright Book Week 2025
Honoured to be asked to speak again at Kirkcudbright Book Week. This is the second time I've been invited along to give a talk. One would have thought they'd have learned the last time!
My talk was about the general history of Crime

Fiction, but with an emphasis on how it has changed and how the author can be authentic to their story yet still keep in tune with modern themes and trends. The talk went extremely well, with lots of audience participation - thanks! And thanks to those kind enough to purchase my books.
Also had the privilege of joining John Dean for a Book signing in Feast Cafe - Kirkcudbright.
I had staff on hand to take photos. Alas, they didn't! Still, Chris Walker at the Selkirk Arms Hotel, Kirkcudbright, honored me with a podcast. I look forward to hearing that.

Book Launch - An Invisible Murder
7th June 2024 at 7:00 PM
To coincide with the launch of the new Daley and Whetstone Crime Story, Scripthaven in Worcester will be hosting a Book Launch event.
I’ll tell you a little about the book and sign copies, and you can also purchase copies of my other books. For those who do purchase a copy, you'll also receive a gift. Whilst not a Ferrari or Mediterranean villa, I am sure you’ll love it.
Oh, and Scripthaven also does great tea and cakes.

Kirkcudbright Book Week 2024
Delighted to be asked to speak at the next Kirkcudbright Book Week.
The talk focuses on the process of fiction writing. Using The Farm, one of the Daley & Whetstone Detective crime thrillers, I will be discussing the original idea for a story tweaking it to create an engaging synopsis and using story and character arcs to give it colour and interest. Finally, he will look at the mechanics of expanding it into a winning outline that will engage the writer and captivate readers.
The talk is scheduled for 2:00 pm on Monday 4th March 2024. I hope to see you there, or at any of the other events taking place during the week.

Interview with Authorsinterviews
I was lucky enough to be interviewed by Fiona McVie for her Authorsinterviews page. It’s an interesting experience for me as I have spent most of my life asking other people questions. Hopefully this will give you an insight into the real me.
Fiona has interviewed a large number of authors, many of them indie and self-published. Why not check out some of them at authorsinterviews.
